Exploring/Emerging (E) - a level of practice in which the teacher leader relies on ongoing assistance
from more experienced colleagues for support, guidance, and survival. The teacher leader is moving
toward becoming more self-directed and independent in her/his practice. ​

Applying (A) - a level of practice in which the teacher leader is able to provide independent
leadership and easily applies what s/he has learned about leadership.

Integrating/Innovating (I) - a level of development in which the teacher leader is fully skilled and
confident. The Integrating/Innovating teacher leader contributing to the broader educational
community through staff development, research, or publication in professional journals. ​

Learning
a. Utilizes group processes to help colleagues work collaboratively to solve problems,

Three Examples of Domain 1 Experiences Areas of Interest in Growth
Example 1: I work alongside my fellow grade level One area of growth I need to work on is promoting
teachers and other grades to formulate the best time facilitation as I still mention changes to my schedule or

An area of strength is in Domain 1, fostering a collaborative culture. I enjoy hearing my students’ opinions and
working with them and my colleagues to create an enjoyable and productive learning environment. Although I feel
well rounded in my ability to collaborate with my students, coworkers, and parents, I struggle with Domain 3:
Promotes Professional Learning for Continuous Improvement. As a newer teacher, I still struggle in promoting my
own learning and finding ways to accomplish this.
