Assignment 01 | CASE STUDIES

The students are asked to work in a group of 5 or 6 (3 groups in total) to generate research on a
restaurants. For that, they must choose one live case study and one literature case study
which can be taken from internet, books or magazines and it should include the following
information:

Case Study (Literature):

1. General information
 Location
 Architect/ interior designer
 Area
 Project year
 Style

2. Architectural drawings (plans)

 Social and Private Components (Area percentages)
 Zoning
 Bubble diagram
 Circulation

3. Site analysis
 North sign, wind, noise, landscape, parking adjacent buildings, etc.

4. Human behavior analysis

 How people use the space;
 Who is using the space.
 Users opinion towards their own spaces (rely on reviews and social
media)

5. Interior design visual and function analysis for each area in the space.
 Lighting (natural and artificial light)
 Color scheme
 Feeling
 Furniture
 Finishes materials (floor, wall, ceiling)
 Design elements and design principles.

6. Findings
 Positive and negative points for each case study
 How these case studies will affect your design?

Note that you can add any important information you may find.

Submission requirement:
 The case studies should be prepared in PowerPoint presentation.
 They will be presented on 7th of March 2024 at the class time. Please
submit them to BB on 9:00 am. Penalties will be applied.
