Careers Research Task and Report

What is a Career: It is an occupation undertaken for a significant period of a person's life and with
opportunities for progress. Example: A career into Engineering.

About Myself: When I was a young boy, I wanted to be many things. I wanted to be archaeologist
due to me being brilliant in finding and discovering objects. I also had a passion for building and
creating objects. Eventually, I realized that I would rather become something more beneficial. I was
above average in Maths and Physics and got excellent marks for Engineering Graphics and Design.
This routes the path for my future career and leads me into choosing these 3 Careers to apply for.

Three careers I would like to apply for in order of preference:

 Career 1: Electrical Engineering

 Career 2: Architectural Design
 Career 3: Civil Engineer or Civil Engineer Technician

If I had to choose any one of the Careers above, I would choose Career 1.
The reason I would like to be an Electrical Engineer is not only because I like this career but
because my Dad is also involved in Electrical Engineering.

My Family Careers:

Father: My Dad works as a Electrical Engineering Manager and works late hours. This shows
that this line of work is quite difficult and tiring. Sometimes there are days he must go on
business meetings which involve ………….

Mother: My Mom is a teacher at Mountview Secondary School. She teaches English and LO.
Everyday is quite stressful due to teaching many students in her classroom. When exams or
tests approaches, she has many papers to mark.

Brother: My Brother always wanted to be a Professional Gamer or a Youtuber when he

grows up. He is very skilled in drawing and maths is his strongest subject. These positives
could lead to a very profitable career.
