Describing a hall and a living room

I would like to tell you a few words about my home. I live in Rivne, which is located in the West of
Ukraine. Our family live in a new flat in one of the bedroom communities. We moved into our flat about
16 years ago. It is a three – room flat on the second floor of a tenth – storey building. It consists of a
living room, a kitchen, a lavatory, a hall, a study room and a bedroom. There are two balconies in our
flat: the first one is in the kitchen, the second – in the study room. Our flat has all modern conveniences
– central heating, gas, Internet connection, running cold and hot water, electricity and a telephone. The
flat commands a beautiful view of the local park, where usually there are lots of children and people
with small dogs.
Now I would like to tell about our hall. It’s important to say, that it is spacious and pleasant looking.
The floor is made of ceramic tiles and the walls are of the red brick. One thing, that I adore, is snow –
white plastering both in the living room and in the hall. When you enter my flat, the first thing, you will
notice is a chest of drawers, where my family keep our shoes, a shoe polish, a shoe brush and our keys.
On the right you can observe a mirror, where one can see how he looks like. Also, there is a doormat in
the center of the hall, where our guests and family wipe their feet. Opposite the mirror, there is a
tastefully selected reproduction, where our town is depicted. On the extreme left a coat hanger is. By the
way, there is a sumptuous settle next to the coat hanger. From the hall you can get to the living room.
Our living room is quite a big room of about 30 square meters. It is the largest room in our flat. The
walls, as I have said earlier, are made of red brick and decorated with plaster. The floor is covered with
laminate, which looks attractive. As my parents don’t like much furniture in the house, so in the living
room there are three pretty houseplants and a soft sofa, a big flat – screen TV and a wall unit. On the
right there is a windowsill, that commands our balcony. It is very large, has some blinds and full –
length brown curtains. Near the windowsill, there is a coffee table, where my mum or me usually do the
ironing. On the extreme right there is a large wardrobe, where my parent’s cloth, our cases and
outerwear are kept. A nice chandelier is hanging from the ceiling and there are some knick – knacks on
the wall unit. During the day, the light comes in through the window, but at night, when it gets dark, we
switch on the light and draw the curtains across the windows.
Speaking about my bedroom, it’s important to say, that the walls are made of red brick and are
decorated with wallpaper. Also, there are some glossy pattern on them. The floor is a parquet and it is
polished. A nice chandelier is hanging from the snow - white ceiling and a pretty rug is on the floor.
My bedroom is quite typical with built -in furniture, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers and a working
table. When you enter my bedroom, the first you will see is a big wardrobe, where all my cloth is kept.
On the extreme left there are some tastefully selected reproduction, which are painted by my little sister.
Opposite the pictures there is a bedside cabinet with some knick - knack and a reading lamp on it. On
the left there is a single bed, where I always nap and sleep. Opposite the bed, there is my working table
with some shelves where typically my studies are kept. On the left, there are also some shelves, where
there are some bed linen and laundry.
To conclude, our living room and the hall are very spacious, attractive and impressive.
