Our Toy Shop

Hi, my name is Amy. I am twelve years old. We have a small toy shop in our neighborhood.

My father says Fridays are the busiest day in our toy shop. So after school, my mom takes me

there to help my dad. That's another reason why I like Fridays. We allow kids to play with the

toys when they are in the store. My father says I am responsible for the toys and that I need to

watch and make sure nothing breaks. Many kids from my school and neighborhood also come

to the shop to look at our new toys. It is always noisy here. Because it’s full of babies and

small children. Little girls tend to go for dolls, boys go for cars. Some just want to play with

the toys; some actually want to buy them. It’s a bit tiring for me but I like going to the shop

and helping my father.

Dear Sarah.

I'm so glad you're having a Harry Potter-themed costume party. I thank you for inviting me, but I

have to make excuses since I will not be able to attend because I am on a walk in another

country. I am with my family getting to know Spain and the tourist sites of this Country. I tell

you that I met Casa Batlló in Barcelona, a beautiful place that is declared a National Heritage.

We also visited the Plaza de Spain, located in the Maria Luisa park, but one of the most beautiful
places where you can appreciate an incredible view of the mountains and the town was when we

visited the Montserrat Monastery in Barcelona.

Great friend for this reason I cannot be with you, but I wish that everything goes super well, that

you have an incredible party, that everyone goes with the costumes and take photos so that you

can show them to me later.

By means of the following email, I would first like to express my sincere apologies for not

showing up for work last week.

Going to visit a relative who lives in another city, I was on the motorcycle and suddenly the

motorcycle tire broke and I had an accident. I was unconscious for several days because I

suffered traumatic brain injuries, a fracture in two ribs, in the right foot and in my left hand, I

suffered peeling when falling on the second degree pavement. My family members for all this

situation forgot to report this accident at work.

Thank God I'm already recovering, I was released from the hospital and I'm already at home. As

I suffered several fractures in different parts of my body I cannot move, but with my wife I will

send him medical incapacity.

tells him why he is late again. He tells her that I couldn't get up before 8:45 a.m. He asks her

what time he gets up. She tells him that at 5:00 a.m. He asks the woman what she was going to

do tomorrow. She tells him that when he gets up he will prepare breakfast, throw away the

garbage and do the laundry. Then read the newspaper, check the email, and take a nap. She tells

him that on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays she exercises and on other days she cleans the

house, takes a shower, dresses, puts on makeup and goes to work.

The surprised man asks her if she never sleeps late on weekends. She tells him that until 6:00

a.m. Then he asks her if she does the laundry day and night. She tells him what day and she asks

Zara

Zara is one of the biggest fashions chains in the world. The founder of

Zara is Amancio Ortega. He is a rich man in Spain, but very few people know his face. There are

only two official photographs of him and rarely gives interviews. Although he is a

multimillionaire businessman, he not looks like one. He doesn´t like wearing suits or tuxedo,

and prefers to wear jeans and shirts. When he when young he worked as a shop assistant in a

clothes store, but in 1963 he started a small company which elaborated women’s pajamas. In

1975, at the age of 40, he opened his first clothes shop and named it Zara. Now, you can find

Zara shops all over the territory, from New York, to Moscow to Singapore. Zara is so

successful because the store reacts quickly to the latest designer fashions and produces clothes

which are fashionable but inexpensive. Zara can make a new line of clothes in three weeks.

Other companies normally take about nine months. The design also changes from week to week

so customers keep coming back to see what’s new. It produces 20.000 new designs including

jackets, skirts, and a lot of new designs that made people falls in love with this clothes store.

This is my friend. Her name is Lina Abadia. They live in Palmira, Valle del Cauca, they are 27

years old. Her hair is black; her eyes are black. She is tall and her skin color is brunette. What we

have in common is the type of music, some meals, life projects and religion. An experience that I

lived with her in the past was that walking the downpour came and we got wet and she slipped

and fell.
