- - What substances or neurotransmitters are altered in these cases? (if

not justifying). To answer the question, we first need to know about
neurotransmitters: Neurotransmitters are chemicals that are used for
communication between neurons and target tissues in the process of synaptic
transmission. There are more than 40 neurotransmitters in the human
nervous system, and some of the most important are: acetylcholine,
norepinephrine, dopamine, gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), glutamate,
serotonin, and histamine.

Now answering the question: In mental health cases, it has been shown that
neurotransmitter levels can be altered. For example, depression has been linked to
low levels of serotonin and norepinephrine. Schizophrenia has been linked to high
levels of dopamine. Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) has been linked
to low levels of dopamine and norepinephrine. It is important to note that the
relationship between neurotransmitters and mental health is complex and not yet
fully understood. Mental disorders are multifactorial and can be caused by a variety
of biological, psychological, and environmental factors.
- What follow-up should these people have, who should they go to
professionally? In general, people experiencing mental health issues can seek help
from mental health professionals, such as psychologists, psychiatrists, clinical social
workers, and counselors. These professionals can help people understand and
manage their symptoms and can recommend treatments such as therapy and
medication.

Follow-up for people with mental health issues can be a complex and personalized
process. In general, it is recommended that individuals seeking treatment for mental
health issues undergo a thorough evaluation to determine the appropriate diagnosis
and treatment plan.

Additionally, it is important for people with mental health issues to have access to a
strong support system. This can include friends and family, support groups, and
community organizations.
- What drugs are used as support in these cases? (if not justify).
Drugs are an important tool in the treatment of mental disorders. The most
commonly used prescription psychiatric medications include the following:

1. Antidepressants: These are used for the treatment of depression,

anxiety, and sometimes other illnesses.
2. Anxiety medications: These are used to treat anxiety disorders,
such as generalized anxiety disorder or panic disorder.
3. Mood-stabilizing medications: These are used to treat bipolar
disorder and other mood disorders.
4. Antipsychotic medications: These are used to treat schizophrenia
and other psychotic disorders.

It is important to note that psychiatric medications can have side effects and are not
suitable for everyone. It's important to speak with a mental health professional to
determine if medication is an appropriate option for you and what medication would
be best for your specific situation.
