My favorite celebration in my country is Water Festival. The Water Festival is the New Year’s
celebration. It is fantastic and popular in my country. People celebrate the Water Festival for 4 days in
April. We also call it Thingyan which is full of incredible things.
People wear modern clothes and some people wear scary masks. Most of the people visit around
the city and play with water. Most of the singers also entertain on the stage and others sing and dance. We
usually have tasty food like rice ball and other treats.
Some people go to monasteries and make donations. We also pay respect to elderly people. A
special symbol of the Water Festival is Padauk flower which is seasonal. It’s a special celebration because
it describes our tradition and culture, and people can relax and have fun.
