This pertains to your letter dated 23 June 2022 requesting for clarification on the use of
an Automatic Ceiling Type Fire Suppression System which according to your technical
explanation is not compliant tro the requirements of the Fire Code of the Philippines and
NFPA Standards. Currently, the BFP does not have appropriate standard that covers
the said Automatic Ceiling Type Fire Suppression System.

The technical explanations that were enumerated in your letter are good points to
consider. However, with respect to your request for the issuance of BFP Memorandum
Circular regarding this matter, we regret that we cannot do so at this moment as we
need enough technical bases. May we refer you instead to the Bureau of Philippine
Standards of the Department of Trade and lndustry regarding the standard of the said
Automatic Ceiling Type Fire Suppression System as their response may serve as our
basis in the issuance of appropriate memorandum.
