Objectives 1. to instill a passion for reading among students by selecting engaging
and diverse reading materials that cater to various interests and
reading levels.
2. to improve reading skills but also to cultivate a lifelong love for
learning through the joy of reading among learners.
3. to provide individualized support during the Catch-Up Friday
sessions.
4. to identify areas that need additional attention and celebrate the
successes of both students and teachers.

On January 29, 2024, Bagac Elementary School buzzed with


Narrative Report anticipation as teachers and the school head of Bagac Elementary School
gathered for the Catch-Up Friday Demonstration led by Mrs. Glenn-Joy S.
Guila and Mrs. Cherry Tuaño. Under the watchful guidance of Master
teachers Mrs. Marites M. Bantugan and Mrs. Fe Q. Espiritu, the two
educators embarked on a mission to showcase innovative teaching
methods.
Mrs. Guila unveiled a captivating demonstration of the Catch up
Friday Reading activities tailored for the intermediate learners. Armed with
enthusiasm and a comprehensive strategy, she presented 13 engaging
classroom reading activities meticulously designed to elevate the literacy
skills of Grade 6 learners. The primary focus of reading activity was to not
only sharpen reading comprehension but also to enrich the vocabulary of
the students.

Throughout the demonstration, Mrs. Guila seamlessly integrated


various interactive elements, encouraging students to delve into the world
of words. Her commitment to fostering a love for reading was evident as
she navigated through diverse literary exercises, fostering an environment
where literacy flourished.
Following the enlightening showcase by Mrs. Guila, Mrs. Tuaño
gracefully stepped into the limelight, presenting her Catch-up activity for the
afternoon session, centered around Health and Family. She brought the
lesson to life by sharing a relevant news clip, creating a dynamic discussion
on ways to express love within the family unit. Mrs. Tuaño's demonstration
exemplified not only her teaching prowess but also her dedication to
instilling essential values in the hearts of the students.

As the demonstration concluded, the atmosphere at Bagac


Elementary School resonated with success. The collaboration between Mrs.
Guila and Mrs. Tuaño, guided by their experienced Master teachers, proved
to be a triumph. The innovative Catch-up Friday activity showcased by the
two educators promised to leave a lasting impact on the students, elevating
their love for reading and instilling good values to achieve healthy and
peaceful life.

In the afternoon session of the Catch-Up Friday Demonstration,


teachers filed into the designated meeting room, each carrying a sense of
excitement and curiosity. The afternoon agenda promised something special
– a session dedicated to teachers preparing their own reading activities and
materials. The prospect of sharing unique insights and creative teaching
approaches added an extra layer of enthusiasm to develop learning
materials for the said activity.

In the aftermath of the Catch-Up Friday Demonstration, Bagac


Elementary School had witnessed not just a teaching demonstration but a
celebration of effective pedagogy and a commitment to shaping well-
rounded individuals.
