MONTHLY CHAPTER
ASSEMBLY - FEBRUARY
MARK 1: 40-45

JESUS HEALS
THE SICK MAN
THE STORY
STARTS WHEN
A SICK MAN
WENT TO JESUS.
THE SICK MAN QUICKLY
KNEELED AND BOWED DOWN
BEFORE JESUS, AND WITH HIS
FACE ON THE GROUND, HE
BEGGED JESUS TO HEAL HIM.
MOVED WITH PITY, JESUS
STRETCHED OUT HIS HAND
AND TOUCHED THE SICK MAN
SAYING, “BE MADE CLEAN.”
AND THE SICK MAN WAS
HEALED.
JESUS THEN SAID TO
THE LEPER NOT TO
TELL ANYONE ABOUT
THE MIRACLE.
INSTEAD, HE IS TO
GO TO A PRIEST AND
OFFER A GIFT TO GOD
FOR HIS HEALING.
INSTEAD, HE IS TO GO TO A PRIEST AND
OFFER A GIFT TO GOD FOR HIS HEALING.
THE MAN WENT TO THE PRIEST BUT ON HIS WAY, HE ALSO
TOLD EVERYONE HE SAW THAT JESUS HEALED HIM BECAUSE
OF GREAT JOY. THE NEWS OF THE MIRACLE QUICKLY SPREAD
WHICH MADE IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR JESUS TO ENTER A
TOWN WITHOUT BEING KNOWN.
SO, JESUS STAYED IN
PLACES WHERE NOBODY
LIVED. BUT STILL, PEOPLE
CAME FROM ALL THE
TOWNS TO WHEREVER HE
WAS, ASKING FOR HIS
HELP ESPECIALLY THOSE
WHO ARE SICK.

SAINT
ST. BLAISE
FEAST DAY:
FEBRUARY 3
St. Blaise was born
to rich parents. His
parents gave him a
good education.
When he grew up,
he became a doctor
and a bishop in
Armenia.
One day, St. Blaise felt
that God was
commanding him to go
away from town and live
alone in a cave. While in
the cave, wild animals
would visit him, and he
healed the animals that
were sick or wounded.
One day, he was
arrested. And in
prison, he
miraculously cured a
small boy who was
choking to death
because of a fishbone
on his throat.
Eventually, the governor
commanded St. Blaise to
be killed because of his
faith. St. Blaise is
recognized as one of the
“Fourteen Holy Helpers
of the Catholic Church”
or the saints that people
ask help from when they
are sick.
He is the
patron saint of
throat ailments.
KFC HEROES
CHALLENGE
St. Blaise is like a
hero of the Catholic
Church.We too could
be like him
and be a hero.
Do you want to be a
hero like St. Blaise?
The KFC Heroes
Challenge today is to
be a “Good steward of
God’s gift.”
Choose a partner then
face each other, and one of
them should squat. With the
Rock facilitator’s signal, the
one who is standing will help
their pair to stand up by
holding each other’s hand and
pulling them up, then vice
versa.
