Bill of Rights
and
Universal Declaration of Human Rights
(UDHR)
Article III of the Philippine Constitution is the Bill of
Rights. It establishes the relationship of the
individual to the State and defines the rights of the
individual by limiting the lawful powers of the State.
Importance of Bill of Rights

A bill of rights is a constitutional enumeration of rights and


privileges guaranteed by the State to all people within its
territory.
UNITED NATIONS DECLARATION ON HUMAN
RIGHTS
is a milestone documents in the history of human rights.
Drafted by representatives with different legal and
cultural backgrounds from all regions of the world, the
Declaration was proclaimed by the United Nations
General Assembly in Paris on December 10, 1948
(General Assembly resolution 217 A) as a common
standard of achievements for all peoples and all nations
