Look vs look like

 look + adjectives (good, bad, quiet, happy, sad, tired)

John looks tired. What did he do last night?

They look overjoyed because they’ve just won the match.

 look like + noun (a star, a celebrity, student)

Look at those kids! They look like adults.

Why do you look like an 80-year old grandma?

 look like + a sentence (they will cry, she hjad an accidnent)

She looks like she will cry.

They look like they are working very hard.

Match the pictures and the example sentences.

Other verbs

You can also use these rules with these verbs: sound, smell, taste, and feel.

 That tastes like the pizza I had in Rome.


 That smells disgusting but it tastes delicious.
 I feel dead in my brain.
 It sound great.
