INTRODUCTION OF COMPANY

Crispy chocolate is one of the brand product from Network food Malaysia Sdn Bhd located In
Persiaran Raja Muda, Seksyen 16, Shah Alam Selangor. Network Food Malaysia Sdn Bhd is one
of the The Network Foods Group Network Food Malaysia Sdn Bhd is one of 30 Network Food
Groups that originally came from Network Foods International Ltd in Singapore that was
established in 1964. It manufactures, markets and distributes chocolates and confectionary
products through its subsidiaries in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. Today, Network
Food's products have been exported to over 30 countries and territories mainly in the Asia-
Pacific and the Middle East regions. The popular brands of Network Foods are Crispy, Tango,
Tudor Gold and Kandos chocolate that are produced in Malaysia. They have been enjoyed by
millions of children, young and mature consumers around the world.

These are the product that are produce in Network Food Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

INTRODUCTION TO PACKAGING

Packaging is the act of enclosing or protecting the product using a container to aid its
distribution, identification, storage, promotion, and usage. In simple terms, packaging refers
to designing and developing the wrapping material or container around a product that helps
to Identify and differentiate the product in the market, Transport and distribute the product,
Store the product, Promote the product, Use the product properly.

Commercial functions:

a. Protection and/or Preservation


- Crispy Chocolate product is protected with aluminium- laminated packaging, which can
reduce risk and harm to the product. This plastic is highly tight packing due to the fact that
Crispy chocolate product cannot exposed by a very hot sunny wheather which will cause
adverse effects to the
Product.

b. Convenience
-This Crispy chocolate packaging is light and not too heavy. In addition, it is easy to carry
anywhere and it is not too big or too small. this packaging will make sure enables your
consumers to successfully use your product without having to worry about waste and messes.

c. Communication
-Crispy chocolate packaging contains information about Crispy chocolate ingredients. It
assists the consumer in identifying the content included in Crispy chocolate products.

CATEGORIES OF PACKAGING DESIGN
Primary Packaging

Primary packaging is the packaging in direct contact with the product itself and is sometimes referred
to as consumer or retail packaging. The main purpose of primary packaging is to protect and/or
preserve, contain and inform the consumer.

Secondary Packaging

Secondary packaging's main purpose is for branding display and logistical purposes. As well as
protecting and collating individual units during storage and are often used by the beverage, food and
cosmetic sectors for displaying primary packs on shelves and are sometimes also referred to as
grouped or display packaging.

Packaging Tertiary

Tertiary packaging facilitates the protection, handling and transportation of a series of sales units or
secondary packaging in order to group everything into unit loads during transit. This type of packaging
is rarely seen by the consumer.

The product’s packaging categories :

a. Primary Packaging

-Primary packaging of Crispy chocolate is a packaging that is in direct contact with the
product itself. It is used as consumer or retail packaging. The purpose of this primary
packaging is to protect and preserve. It also contain information to inform the buyer.

b. Secondary Packaging
Secondary packaging of Crispy Chocolate main purpose is for branding display and logistical purposes.

In my opinion, Crispy chocolate is good at using colour because they meet user interest
especially children. This is because they use a bright colour such as gold yellow which it gives
the impression of joyful, calmness and happiness. They also use a blue colour to a dinasour
as mascot to represent happiness and family friendly among the children.

PROBLEM AND SOLUTION

Problem: What I see on this crispy chocolate packaging is that it does not have a packaging
set where in this packaging set there are small packets up to large packets. this is because
there are some people who prefer the complete package because it is more worthwhile and
economical so I came up with an idea.

SUMMARY

Packaging is one of the most important element to protect the product from getting damage
and for food supply business. What the most important things is the designer should aware
of any issue of manufacturing packaging. Its not just about uniqueness or size but the
packaging ability to protect and preserve and make sure that the product is in good condition.
In additions, designer should also aware about the information that a package provides. This
is to make sure that it can be read and understand it.

Lastly,the designer should also aware about packaging. The packaging should be made in a
way that the product could be conveniently taken from one place to another and can be
handled easily and to heavy by middlemen or consumers. The size and shape of the package
also should be convenient for retailers to keep in the shop or for consumers to keep at
their home.
