Job Title: Model Developer - Financial Modeling and Analytics

innovative solutions to clients in the financial industry. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated
Senior Data Scientist with a strong background in econometric modeling, statistical analysis, and
financial analytics to join our dynamic team.

Job Summary:

As a Model Developer, you will play a crucial role in developing, implementing, and testing financial
models, algorithms, and cash flow simulations. You will leverage your expertise in econometric modeling
and statistical analysis to translate complex mathematical and financial logic into software code,
contributing to business decisions, financial reporting, and risk management.

Responsibilities:

● Develop, implement, and test financial models, algorithms, and cash flow simulations using Java,
Python, and R.
● Utilize Advanced Analytics and Data Science techniques to translate complex mathematical and
financial modeling logic into efficient software code.
● Design and execute test cases for modeling and analytical software applications, ensuring they
meet business needs and model requirements.
● Execute model application runs, process/validate model outputs, and produce/review quantitative
reports for business use.
● Monitor emerging technologies and industry best practices in model and analytical system
implementation, proposing adoption of such technologies or best practices.
● Provide technical guidance or consultation to less senior staff and serve as a technical lead on
projects.
● Communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner both
verbally and in writing.
● Collaborate effectively as part of a team and across organizational lines, serving as a project lead
to develop and implement solutions to meet business needs.

Requirements:

● Experience with econometric modeling and statistical analysis.


● Strong programming experience in Java and Python/R. Familiarity with SAS and tools in the
AWS/Cloud environment.
● Knowledge of mortgage mathematics, multifamily analytics, and finance.
● Understanding of Credit Risk Model, Conservator Capital Framework (CCF), Credit Risk
Transfer (CRT) is a plus.
● Experience with financial data, analytics, and cashflows applications.
● Excellent communication skills, oral and written, with the ability to explain and document
complex systems.
● Adherence to sound software development and data management practices.
● Conscientious attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency in analytical work.
● Cross-functional business skills with excellent facilitation and communication skills.
● Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

● MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Engineering, or related field.


● 3+ years of experience in building large-scale machine learning or deep learning models.
● 1+ year of experience specifically with deep learning (e.g., CNN, RNN, LSTM).
● Skills with Jupyter Notebook, AWS Sagemaker, or Domino Datalab.
● Passion for solving complex data problems in a fast-paced environment.
● Knowledge in Python or C++ / C#, SQL, object-oriented programming, service-oriented
architectures.
● Strong scripting skills with Shell script and SQL.
● Hands-on experience with Python (SciPy, NumPy, PySpark) and/or Scala.
● Knowledge and implementation experience with statistical and machine learning models.
● Experience with deep learning frameworks like MXNet, Tensorflow, Keras, Caffe, PyTorch,
Theano, or similar.
● Experience with search architecture (e.g., Solr, ElasticSearch).
