The purpose of the study is to evaluate the value of a geographic information system (GIS)

modelling approach for forecasting effective landslides in various regions of Sikkim state,
India. Using Landsat 8 data to create numerous key themed map layers. The authors examine
the area's geology, slope, density of drainage, features, and land use using digital elevation
model data and Landsat 8 images. For the final mapping of landslip susceptibility, an analytic
hierarchy process (AHP) approach was used to integrate the produced landslide occurrence
features into a GIS environment. The ROC (Receiver Operating Characteristic) curve is used
to assess the effectiveness of landslide maps created using AHP .The area under the curve
(Area Under Curve) has been estimated 70% (good accuracy) using the landslide
susceptibility map and data from the landslide inventory. The areas most prone to landslides
include the Ramgarh thrusts, Ranjit windows, and adjacent MCT-1 and MCT-2 regions.
