CHAPTER V

ARCHITECTURAL PROGRAMMING

This chapter is the discussion of the accomplished spatial programming,


relationship matrix and bubble diagram in order to know the required spaces,
needed sizes and adjacency of spaces. This will ensure the best possible design
for the proposed title Iluluan Retreat and Tourism Complex.

5.1 Spatial Organization

To achieve a sustainable design for the proposed study, the researchers


carefully analyzed the relationship of spaces. The purpose of this is to ensure the
best spatial programming for the whole project.

5.1.1 Spatial Identification

Administration Building. Located in this building is the administrative core of


the whole establishment. Included here are some of the amenities like the
cafeteria, museum and souvenir shop.

Cabin Type 1 & 2. The establishments’ accommodation, it is a small studio type


apartment where the tourists could check in.

Bunker Type 1 & 2. A type of accommodation for large group of people that can
be used for jamboree.

Picnic Area. An open court equipped with tables and chairs that could
accommodate tourists. Also serves as a hang out place.

Worship Hall. A hall for religious people to use. It is secular in design so as to


accommodate all types of religion.

Spa Building. A small-scale spa to give visitors quality massage and other
relaxation services.

Amphitheater. A small amphitheater to accommodate tourists or other visitors


with activities that includes performing or educational talks or seminars.

Maintenance/Utility Building. The maintenance building houses all the


operation and maintenance of the park.

Function Hall. An open hall for trainings, seminars and other social gatherings.

Viewing Towers. A tower for public viewing to overlook the scenic view of
Mayon volcano and rolling hills of Camalig.
