Hygroma Treatment

Hygroma Before Treatment Hygroma After Treatment

Supplies Needed:
1 part Depo-Medrol (do NOT substitute)
2 parts Lincosin (Upjohn)(do NOT substitute)
Amount to use: 3-6cc per elbow *this is where you and your vet have
to discuss the medication instructions-age, weight, severity of the
bursa, etc...

DMSO-Furison
Procedure:
1.Scrub area.
2.Prepare your Depo-medrol/lincosin mixture and have it ready.
3.Drain the affected elbow - use only one syringe - put the
needle in the middle of the sack and slowly pull out the fluid- leave
the needle in the elbow and dispose of the fluid-reconnect the
syringe and pull off as much as you can- this may take 3-4 times
depending on the amount of fluid you have to draw off.
4.VERY IMPORTANT; DO NOT withdraw the needle- the less trauma to the
area the better success you will have.
5.Attach your Depo-medrol/lincosin mixture to infuse to the needle
and slowly inject. At this point you will have seen the elbow go down in size then back up
because you have injected something back into it. The body will
absorb it - don't worry. It will not be as big as when you started.
6. Do nothing for 3-4 hours
7. Massage a mixture of DMSO Gel and Furison (1/2and 1/2) into the
elbow 3x a day...Be sure to use rubber gloves- Mix it up in a
bowl and I have it ready - use for 2-3 weeks.
8. If Infusion is needed again, wait 6 to 8 weeks.
