Importance of Trees

By : Mo. Sufiyan B. Mansur , Dalpat Tapaniya

Importance of trees
Trees are important, valuable and necessary to our existence as
They have furnished us with two of life's essentials, food and oxygen.
They provided additional necessities such as shelter, medicine, tools.
Trees give us timber, paper, firewood and gum .

They also add to the beauty of life. Gardens can not be charming
without them.
Trees also help to control pollution, They absorb carbon dioxide.
They improve our environment.
Trees provide shade, filtration of water and erosion control of soil

Trees are the greatest collectors of the suns energy. All energy
comes from the sun, our trees collect and store more of it than
anything else in the world.
Trees as natural air filter
• Trees are natures air conditioners.
They Purifies the air absorbing carbon
monoxide, sulfur dioxide and nitrogen
dioxide.
• A mature leafy tree produces
as much oxygen in a season as 10
people inhale in a year.
• In one year the average tree inhales
26 pounds of carbon dioxide, the
amount emitted by a car on an
11,000 mile trip.
Protection of soil by trees
Before

• Trees protects the soil by absorption of dangerous

chemicals and other pollutants that have entered
the soil.
• Trees can either store harmful pollutants or
actually change the pollutant into less harmful
forms. After
• Tree roots keep soil from washing away.
Water is also much cleaner when there are a
lot of trees around, Their leaves, trunk, and
roots are natural pollution filters.
Trees provide shelter

• Trees give us timber, Timber is used in making houses, train

compartments, big boxes, tools etc.
• Trees provide shelter for animals. Many different types of birds make
nests on or inside trees. Mammals, such as squirrels, make nests in trees!
• Fish even use trees limbs that fall into the water to make their homes.
Trees are noise buffers

• Trees Control Noise Pollution, They are good noise buffers.

• Trees muffle urban noise almost as effectively as stone walls.
• Trees, planted at strategic points in a neighbourhood or around your
house, can abate major noises from freeways and airports
Medical use of trees

• Some of our indian trees like “Neem”, “Tulsi” and others are
used as medicines in different ways.
• Today, most MNCs use natural oils and other substances from
trees in their cosmetic products.
• Medical Treatment method such as Ayurvedic, Unani and
homeopathy are totally based on tress.
Trees : Important part of our Ecosystem

• Trees contribute to their environment by providing oxygen, improving

air quality, conserving water, preserving soil, and supporting wildlife.
• During the process of photosynthesis, trees consumes in carbon dioxide
and produce the oxygen we breathe.
• Trees are an important part of the water cycle. Their roots extract
moisture from the soil while their leaves return moisture to the air as
water vapour.
• Trees help cause rain because they return moisture to
the atmosphere.
• Hence they protect water resources under the ground.
