like cloud computing. Amazon is one of the world's largest and most profitable businesses, and

this firm has grown to become the biggest online retailer in the United States. Initially, this

company started as an online marketplace for books after Jeff Bezos founded it in 1994

(Cuthbertson et al., 2015). With time, this company expanded to sell a wide range of goods and

services to customers across the globe.

Amazon Inc. has outstanding supply chain operations that have revolutionized over the

years with the objective of achieving efficiency. One of the most innovative technologies the

company has adopted in its supply chain operations is using robots in warehousing. The

company has thousands of robots, including ones that are fully autonomous. These robots can

pick and pack items without any human intervention, and this, therefore, eliminates human error.

At the same time, robots can pick and stow more than 1,000 items per hour, which implies that

they can do the job several times faster than humans (Rey, 2022). The technology streamlines the

company’s supply chain by creating efficiency in the warehouse, thereby stimulating this

organization’s competitive advantage. In the future, the company should consider using

autonomous trucks for the delivery of goods. This will eliminate human error and create more

efficiency in transportation, thereby streamlining its supply chain operations.
