Porto
Last Christmas, my class and I went on a school trip to Madrid.
Madrid is the capital city and most populous city of Spain. It is situated right in the
centre of the country.
It is a city of elegant avenues and big parks which are well taken care of. It is also
5 very rich in art. We had the opportunity to see Goya’s masterpieces as well as Velasquez’s
at the Prado Museum. In Plaza Mayor we were happy to appreciate the old Madrid, with
the residence of the Spanish monarch and the seat of government.
Madrid possesses modern infrastructures, but it has preserved the look and feel
of many of its historic streets.
10 Football is very important for its citizens. There are two famous football clubs:
Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid.
I found it very interesting and I had the chance to practise my Spanish.
