Stier, (2006) The researcher used a comparative single university document from a Swedish university,
an American University and a Canadian university to investigate Intercultural communication education
in the context of internationalization (ICE). Stier argues that ICE is not recognized explicitly in the public
documents, therefore it is important to re-examine the current ICE on internationalization concept. He
further adds that there is a need to introduce ICE competences: “intrapersonal, interpersonal, content
and processual competences” (p.7) into the current and future pedagogical curriculum of
internationalization of higher education.
