WHERE DID MOON COME FROM?

In the early twentieth century, scientists thought that the Moon was formed by splitting away from the Earth, soon
after the Earth was formed. The Moon was formed in a different way. This is called the collision theory.

The collision theory = the giant impact hypothesis

Nebulae are clouds of dust and gas in space.

The gases found in nebulae are mostly hydrogen and a smaller quantity of helium.

Most nebulae are very large.

Many nebulae are more 10 000 times bigger than the Solar System!

The Orion nebula is one of the easiest nebulae to see without a telescope from northern hemisphere.
