The History of Comic Books
Comic books are as old as movies, first introduced at the beginning of the 20th century and were visually
illustrated without any words. Comic books could be seen in prehistoric paintings in caves. ``Forerunners
like the Swiss Rudolph Topffer, the French Georges Colomb, the Brazilian Angelo Agostini , and Richard
Fenton Outcault’s creation, the Yellow Kid in the 1930. In the 1930s, a shift occurred towards
adventurous tales, introducing superheroes like Superman, Batman, and Captain Marvel, alongside
characters like Flash Gordon. The 1950s brought Charles Schulz's Peanuts, emphasizing written content.
The 1960s witnessed a reintroduction of superheroes, including Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, X-Men, and the
beloved Spider-Man, cementing Marvel Comics' industry dominance.
