GRAND AVE, ELMHURST, IL. 60126. This letter is to notify you that on January 10°, 2024, at 10:39 PM, officers responded to this location for a case of Robbery, Elmhurst Police Department Case Numbers: ELPC2400090. ‘This offense is defined as a nuisance activity by City Ordinance, Chapter 12, Section 12.31 (6)(24). This letter is to notify you that the property is in danger of becoming a Chronic Nuisance Property. three or more nuisance activities occur within 180 days of January 10”, 2024 on this property, you as the ‘owner may be charged under this ordinance. Chief Gandy, It was great speaking with you yesterday. | want to recap our discussion concerning the Public Nuisance Activity Offense letter that we received on January 16, 2024 regarding the Extended Stay America hotel located at 550 W. Grand Ave., Elmhurst, Ilinois 60126. Per our discussion, please be aware that the guests involved were investigated and were immediately asked to leave our hotel on the same date. The guests have been permanently banned from the property and are ineligible to return as registered guests. | understand the employee requested a subpoena before allowing you to review guest footage. According to our company policy, we do require a subpoena or other legal order before producing video footage. If the employee advised that a subpoena was needed to only view the CCTV footage, more likely than not, the employee believed he was complying with our policy. However, we are aware that some circumstances, such as the one you described, would be considered exigent and we want to cooperate fully with your department. We will inform the employee that if footage is removed from the property, that a subpoena will be required, Please know that ESA Management takes this letter very seriously and does not wish to be considered a chronic nuisance property per Elmhurst City Ordinances.
