In compliance with Deped Order No. 39, which is titled Operational Guidelines on the
Implementation of the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP), the School Canteen Manager,
Ma'am Rosalie Arceo, and the School Clinic Teacher, Ma'am Juvilyn G. Sombillo, of Alexis G.
Santos National High School (AGSNHS), began organizing and implementing the SBFP for the
academic year 2023–2024.
The main objective of the School Based Feeding Program, which runs from September
2023 to April 2024, is to increase the nutritional status of the student recipients by at least 70%
by the end of feeding days. It also cleared the way for the development of numerous approaches
to guarantee adherence to SBFP implementation guidelines and achievement of success
indicators.
Weighing all of our children at once in September 2023 was made possible by the
assistance of all MAPEH teachers. Their BMIs were taken during physical education classes as
part of the curriculum. While most learners were in normal status, certain students, ranging from
grade 7 to grade 10, are regrettably classified as seriously wasted. The Feeding Program for
School Year 2023–2024 included 50 children.
At our school canteen, students who were recipients of our school's feeding program
received a complimentary snack and lunch. We gave them a tasty and nourishing lunch that we
had picked from our school garden. We had some packed food ready for them as well. We
created a week's worth of menu items so they could have different dishes every lunch.
Many indications have occurred in less than a month of feeding our recipients. Many of
them developed the drive and excitement to perform in class; they are now consistently on time,
cheerful, and have put on weight.
This simply serves to demonstrate that the feeding program has been put into place at our
school and that its goal—making all of our pupils healthy, active, enthusiastic, intelligent, and
happy—has been met. This is what would happen if our welcoming school canteen provided
them with wholesome and delectable cuisine.
