CONDUCT OF GMA UNANG HAKBANG SA KINABUKASAN

1. The GMA Kapuso Foundation Inc. (GMAKF) is a long-time partner of the

Department of Education (DepEd) on various partnership programs for education. One
of the programs under the partnership agreement with GMAKF is the implementation of
the Unang Hakbang Para Sa Kinabukasan (UHSK). The UHSK aims to help poor parents
in encouraging their children to go to school and inspire them to study and remain in
school having a complete set of school materials for the in-person classes. For the School
Year 2023-2024, the GMAKF shall be implementing the UHSK Program in pre-selected
areas.

2. Relative to this, the GMA Kapuso Foundation shall conduct the GMA Unang
Hakbang sa Kinabukasan in the municipalities of Aleosan, Libungan and Pigcawayan for
the School Year 2023-2024. This activity is scheduled on September 27 to 29, 2023.
The list of beneficiaries of the GMA Unang Hakbang sa Kinabukasan with the indicated
distribution schedule is attached as an enclosure.

3. This activity shall observe the “no disruption of classes policy” stipulated in
DepEd Order (DO) No. 9, s. 2005 titled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-
on-Task and Ensuring Compliance Therewith, and the policy on off-campus activities
stated in DO 66, s. 2017.

4. Further, GMA Kapuso Foundation representative, Philippine Army, together with

the Division SGOD personnel and District Nurse In-Charge will spearhead the
distribution. As part of the program implementation procedures, the GMAKF
representatives will be visiting/coordinating with the concerned offices regarding the
requirements and administrative arrangements for this program.

5. Travelling expenses and other incidental expenses during the distribution shall be
charged from SMN-MOOE GAAS subject to the usual accounting and auditing rules and
regulations.
