ELECTRIC FORKLIFT & REACH TRUCK SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Pre-Service Inspection:

 Visually inspect the forklift for any visible damage, leaks, or loose components.

 Ensure there are no obstructions around the forklift.

2. Battery Inspection:

 Check the battery charge level.

 Inspect battery terminals for corrosion and clean if necessary.

 Verify proper water levels in lead-acid batteries.

3. Tyre Maintenance:

 Inspect tire condition and pressure.

 Check for signs of wear or damage.

 Rotate tires as recommended by the manufacturer.

4. Brake System:

 Inspect brake fluid levels (if applicable).

 Test brake operation for responsiveness.

 Check for any abnormal noises during braking.

5. Hydraulic System:

 Check hydraulic fluid levels.

 Inspect hoses and connections for leaks or wear.

6. Charging System:

 Verify the charging system's proper operation.

 Inspect charging sockets for damage.


 Ensure charging stations are functioning correctly.

7. Lubrication:

 Lubricate moving parts as per the manufacturer's recommendations.

 Pay attention to pivot points, joints, and any other specified areas.

8. Steering System:

 Check the steering system for smooth operation.

 Inspect the steering fluid levels (if applicable).

 Verify the alignment and adjust if necessary.

9. Safety Features:

 Test safety features such as lights, horn, and backup alarms.

 Ensure emergency stop functions properly.

10. Insulation Check:

 Inspect electrical cables and connections for any wear or damage. - Perform
insulation resistance tests.

11. Drive System:

 Check the drive motor and controller for any issues. - Inspect the transmission for
leaks. - Test acceleration and deceleration.

12. Load Capacity Testing:

 Perform load capacity tests to ensure the forklift can handle its rated load. - Check
load-bearing components for wear.

13. Complete System Check:

 Conduct a comprehensive inspection of all forklift systems. - Replace filters, if


necessary. - Review and address any error codes or fault indicators.

14. Post-Service Inspection:


 Perform a final visual inspection to ensure all components are properly secured. -
Verify that all maintenance tasks have been documented.

15. Record Keeping:

 Maintain detailed records of all inspections, services, and repairs. - Log any issues
identified and actions taken in service inspection report.
