Session Title : A Holistic Understanding of Subject and
Peace and Violence Time :
Session Objective : To equip learners with the appropriate knowledge and values in Peace Education.
Key Concepts :  Peace is not simply a lack of war nor violence; peace means the
eradication of all facets of injustice (Cheng and Kurtz, 1998);
 Peace is the absence of violence, not only personal or direct but also
structural or indirect (Johan Galtung);
 Negative peace is the absence of direct / physical violence;
 Positive peace refers to the presence of just and non-exploitative
relationships, as well as human and ecological well-being, such as the root
causes of conflict are diminished;
 Gratitude is a conscious, positive emotion one can express when feeling
thankful for something, whether tangible or intangible;
 Engaging in gratitude awareness activity that reflects to the personal
experiences and apply sense of gratitude in everyday life.

Peaceful World Collage

Procedure :
1. The class will be divided into five (5) groups.
2. The teacher will ask the learners to cut out
images and phrases from
magazines that represent their
vision of a peaceful world.
3. In a small groups, they will create a collage
on ½ manila paper.
4. Discussion: Each group shares
their collage and explains the
elements they chose, connecting
them to the key themes.
