2. What is it like? What is there to see there?
Ankara is one of the biggest cities in Turkey, because it is the capital city, and there are a lot of governmental institutions. There are plenty of historic buildings such as Roman ruins, Ankara Castle, The Old Parliament. Ankara is well-known for its monuments. For example, Anıtkabir is the heart of Turkey. It is a university town, there are a lot of state and private universities. For instance, METU, Hacettepe, Gazi, Ankara, Social Sciences and Yıldırım Bayezıt are state universities, whereas Bilkent, Ufuk, Atılım, Çankaya are private ones. The night life in Ankara is exciting with clubs such as A, B, C,D. 3. What is the weather like there? The weather in Ankara is typical of the Middle Anatolian Region. Winters are cold and snowy, and summers are hot and dry. Especially it is really boring in summer months because there is nothing to do too much. 4. What is it famous for? Facilities/ Food Ankara is famous for its Angora rabbits, goats and cats. Ankara is generally a formal city because of the parliament and heads of the state here, but there are many interesting museums and sites to visit in Ankara, a skiing centre nearby, and a fine night life. Touristic places in Ankara include Anıtkabir, Museum of Anatolian Civilizations, The Ethnographical Museum, The Castle of Ankara, The Temple of Agustus, The Roman Bath, Kocatepe Mosque and Hacı Bayram Mosque. Although I like Agean food a lot, Ankara provides all kinds of food from different parts of Turkey. There are a lot of restaurants which serve food of Turkish cuisine. For example Boğazköy and HD İskender are the best restaurants and Ankara Tava and Döner are my favourite specialities. 5. What is the best thing about it? Do you like living there? What I like best about Ankara is that although it is a bustling/ crowded/busy city, it is quite planned , so it is easy to live there comfortably. I particularly like greenery in Ankara. Although it is a middle Anatolian city, it is quite green with lots of amazing parks, mountains and thermal provinces like Kızılcahamam and Haymana. Also people are helpful, kind, warm and friendly here.
