Personal Statement
Completed a Diploma in Quantity Surveying from ABC Institute of Technology, and worked for one year
as a quantity surveyor for a construction firm. Currently looking for full-time employment as a quantity
surveyor in the European region. Proven track record in project work, as well as commitment, energy
and a real enthusiasm for construction.

Skills and abilities

Excellent knowledge of construction industry
 Combination of academic study and ‘real world’ training by completing a National Diploma and
in-house cadetship concurrently.
 A broad understanding of the construction industry with experience working on a variety of
projects, from small residential jobs to large commercial buildings.
Ability to work successfully as a member of a team
 Team work is a key part of my current role, which involves working as part of a small team of
quantity surveyors, as well as working within the larger construction team.
Excellent management skills
 Specialist skills in subcontractor and tender management.
 Good internal/external relationship-management skills.

Work History
ABC Construction Jan 2011 – current
Quantity Surveyor
Currently working in a team of five quantity surveyors for ABC Construction.Worked on large
commercial construction projects as well as smaller residential projects. Main responsibilities on these
projects included:
 cost control
 monitoring cashflow for the site
 purchasing materials and issuing purchase orders to staff
 contracting subcontractors for specialist areas of work.
