Installation: Simply copy the files OptValuation.vbs and OptValuation.exe into

the Optimizer directory (containing the file POptimize.dll) where the S2M Center
is installed.

Use: To run the OptValuation utility, make sure that the file Planit.ctl exists in
the directory OptValuation is being run from. Use OptValuation.vbs to run the
OptValuation utility since running OptValuation.exe directly will cause the utility
to display the following error and then exit:

Each time the S2M Center optimizer is run, the Planit.ctl file is repopulated with
settings specified in the S2M Center optimizer. Controls 33136 & 33152 (Offcut
Valuation and Stock Valuation, respectively), though, are “persistent” (not
repopulated). These are the controls that this utility modifies. Note: For those
nesting parts to be machined as a nest on a CNC router, the Planit.ctl file is only
used by nesting type “Block” optimization. It is not used by nesting type
“Geometric” optimization.

Instruction: Tool tips are present throughout the utility which explain what the
values in the utility represent. For a more in-depth explanation of these controls,
as well as others, consult the accompanying document “Planit.ctl File Code
Definitions”

Recovery: The values shown above are the default values initially present for
controls 33136 & 33152 in the Planit.ctl file. If, after modifying the Planit.ctl file
with this utility or by editing the file manually, the S2M Center optimizer begins to
behave erratically, simply replace the values for controls 33136 & 33152 with the
above values or (if all else fails) simply delete the Planit.ctl file. If deleted, the
Planit.ctl file will be re-created when the S2M Center optimizer finds that it is not
already present in the Optimizer directory.
