BACKGROUND
Back then in 2016, this case exploded and media
drive the society that Jessice was proven guilty.
In 2023, an original documentary was released by
Netflix named “Ice Cold: Murder, Coffee and Jessica
Wongso”. This documentary opened the public's eyes
that Jessica may not be guilty because there was no
direct evidence showing that Jessica poured cyanide
into Wayan Mirna Salihin’s coffee.

 Circumstantial evidence is a theory that
CIRCUMSTANCIAL presents indirect evidence. Although it
doesn't explicitly prove a fact that is in
dispute, it enables the fact finder to make
EVIDENCE a fair reasonable inference about whether
or not a fact exists based on the evidence
they have gathered.

Jessica Wongso's lawyer Otto Hasibuan,

said that her client never poured the
cyanide into the Wayan Mirna Salihin’s
coffee. In addition, Otto also said that the
judge could not convict Jessica since
there was insufficient evidence of her
cyanide source.

RUMOR THEORY suggests that rumors can evolve and change, influenced by various factors
such as different POVs and interpretations, and subsequent events. It
explains that false information can be accelerated by the lack of clear and
accurate details, making people susceptible to creating or accepting
speculative narratives.
