Film Review:

The "Barbie" movie was made available to audiences Overall, we would suggest this film to any guy or woman

patriarchy are dealt with by Barbie. "Barbie" portrays a
perspective we’ve rarely ever seen on the big screen, and we
think it's engaging, nostalgic, and melancholy.

The setting and soundtrack almost immediately transported

us back to our youth as viewers first enter the world of Barbie,
where everything is pink and fanciful. Barbie floats from
location to location, the "Dream House" lacks running water,
and the food is inedible which really brought home the point
that Barbie Land is an imaginary place. The Barbie movie was
very different from what we had anticipated, but despite the
lack of animation, we believe that this is what made it stand
out from the other Barbie movies.

Although the film is amusing, we believe Gerwig didn't

hesitate from addressing some very difficult and true thoughts
and themes that many women around the world have
experienced. Robbie's Barbie expresses her uncontrollable
thoughts of death not even ten minutes into the film. The next
day, there were changes to Barbie. Barbie travels to the
human world to look find the person who is playing with her.
Humans who play with Barbie’s in real life unintentionally
control the dolls in Barbie Land. Barbie believes the human is
causing her to have these miserable thoughts and wishes to
make things right in both their minds. As the film progresses,
we watch Barbie deal with the clear sexualization that women
suffer, as well as anxiety and sadness. It was reassuring to see
that, despite being a fictional character, Barbie was not
immune to the devastating realities that life throws at us all
from time to time. Meanwhile, Ken discovers patriarchy and
intends to bring it to Barbie Land.

We believe the film captures the premise of demonstrating
