Introduction

The term 'systems approach' has been formed by two words: systems + approach. By systems is
meant the entirety or wholeness, in which all elements, factors, organs or components are
mutually related, knit together and self controlled. The systems approach believes in the
entirety. This approach considers teaching and training as social and technological process. In
educational sphere this approach is a method to arrive at solutions to problems, and it helps to
carry forward and develop the teaching and training system as per the new changes. Education
in this systems approach is considered good, in which some elements function as input. Then
these elements pass through a process and then emerge as output. The output is the product
or the realization of objectives. This approach provides education with the level of active
product system, and tries to establish education as a product. The system approach in
instruction offers various benefits and applications, including:

Optimized Personnel Utilization:

Continuous control involves monitoring the effectiveness of teaching methods and adapting
them to optimize personnel contributions.Coordination ensures a harmonious collaboration
among teachers, students, technicians, and resource persons, fostering a conducive learning
environment.

Collaborative Performance Appraisal:

Clearly defined objectives enable a structured evaluation of both individual and collective
performance.Involving all stakeholders in decision-making ensures a comprehensive
understanding of the objectives, fostering a culture of shared responsibility.

Enhanced Control and Coordination:

Increased control involves monitoring student progress, adjusting content delivery, and
efficiently managing available resources.Coordination aligns curriculum objectives with teaching
strategies, ensuring a coherent and effective instructional process.

Quality Control through Feedback:

The feedback mechanism involves regular assessments, enabling timely adjustments to

instructional methods and content.Continuous improvement based on feedback ensures the
educational system remains responsive to evolving needs and standards.

Strategic Instructional Planning:

Effective planning involves creating adaptable schemes of work, lesson plans, and unit plans to
meet both short-term and long-term educational goals.Alignment with curriculum objectives
ensures a seamless and purposeful progression of learning experiences for students.

Inclusive Education Integration:

The systems approach promotes inclusive practices by designing instructional programs that
cater to diverse learning needs.Strategies are implemented to ensure that students with
varying abilities and backgrounds receive equitable educational opportunities.

Technological Integration and Innovation:

Embracing technology is a key element, incorporating innovative tools and methods to enhance
the learning experience. The systems approach encourages the integration of modern
technologies to make education more engaging, interactive, and relevant.

Continuous Assessment Strategies:

The system incorporates ongoing assessment methods, moving beyond traditional exams to
gauge student progress.Continuous assessment provides real-time insights into student
understanding and allows for timely intervention and support.

Community Involvement in Curriculum Design:

The systems approach extends to involving the community in shaping the curriculum to align
education with local needs and values.Collaboration with community members ensures that
educational goals resonate with the broader societal context.

Environmental Sustainability Education:

The system integrates themes of environmental sustainability into instructional planning to

cultivate ecological awareness.Educational initiatives are designed to instill a sense of
responsibility towards the environment, fostering environmentally conscious citizens. These
additional aspects underscore the versatility and adaptability of a systems approach in
addressing a wide range of educational considerations, from inclusivity to technological
innovation and community engagement.

Conclusion
The development and use of a technology in the field of education is viewed in different ways
by different people. Some claim it as the basis of a revolution in the educational system aimed
at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of education at different levels.

On the other hands, some castigate it as a movement aimed at replacing the traditional teacher
from the educational scene by sophisticated machines and gadgets But in realities the function
of an educational technology lies in structuring the environment for learning, by the use of
modern method, techniques, approaches, media etc.

In simple words, educational technology is concerned with the development, application and
evaluation of systems, techniques and aids to improve the process of human learning. Thus, we
can conclude that system approach helps in optimising effectiveness of use of educational
technology. It helps in all the three phases, i.e. designing, implementing and evaluating phases
of educational technology.
