Worksheet Objectives:

1. Identify an organization and situation you want to study over the remainder of the course.

2. Describe the organization and the situation

Complete the following making sure to support your ideas and cite from the textbook and other
course materials per APA guidelines. After the peer review, you have a chance to update this and
format for your Electronic Portfolio due in Module 6.

1) Name and describe your organization.

The National Football League (NFL)

The NFL, Established in 1920, is a widely popular football league here in the United
States. It is responsible for generating a lot of revenue and creating a massive sports sta-
ple in modern day sports. (2023, Best) The NFL is a large organization that has 32
smaller organizations within itself. They each operate as their own entity while still abid-
ing by the overall established rules and bylaws of the NFL. The current commissioner of
the NFL is Rodger Goodall and he has a board around him that manages and holds the
entire league with standards. With that, Owners of each team has to corporate or they
could lose ownership of the team itself. (2023, NFL)

2) Describe your role in the organization (it can be an internal or external role).

I will chose to view this organization from an external role. This allows me to analyze
and become an consultant to the entire organization and get meaningful insight that can
help resolve personal , internal conflict. This role allows creates opportunities to reach
out to outside stakeholders such as players and TV channels that broadcast games within
cities. Finally, an external view can help establish a partnership with players rights within
the NFLPA. (National Football League Players Association)

3) Describe the situation, including information you think the will help the reader un-
derstand the most important elements of the situation. (This will require selectivity:

part of the art of case writing is separating the essential facts from the mass of infor-
mation that might be included).

Is is important to note that each team is operated and maintain by an Owner, President or
CEO, General Manager, and Coach of each team. A situation that has recently been
brought up is the question of integrity of ownership. Many reports have indicated of foul
play, sexual assault, and cheating within certain NFL teams. Due to the fact that the NFL
and NFLPA work separate from these teams, a lot of investigations have occurred calling
out specific owners of each team. This has created rumors and hurtful imaging for the
NFL. Viewer ship has not really gone down in the past years, but a lack of support for
these teams is continuing to rise due to the shady aspects of inside an NFL team.
