Introductory Message

Welcome to the TLE-ICT and Entrepreneurship 6 Module 6 on Posts and Shares


Materials on Wikis in a Safe and Responsible Manner.

This Self-Learning Module was collaboratively designed, developed and


reviewed by educators from the Schools Division Office of Pasig City headed by its
Officer-in-Charge Schools Division Superintendent, Ma. Evalou Concepcion A.
Agustin, in partnership with the City Government of Pasig through its mayor,
Honorable Victor Ma. Regis N. Sotto. The writers utilized the standards set by the K
to 12 Curriculum using the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELC) in
developing this instructional resource.

This learning material hopes to engage the learners in guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Further, this also aims to help learners
acquire the needed 21st century skills especially the 5 Cs, namely: Communication,
Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking, and Character while taking into
consideration their needs and circumstances.

In addition to the material in the main text, you will also see this box in the

Wiki is designed to be an online forum, where you can post information


and allow you to edit or add to it. However, the should be monitored to be
sure that no inappropriate language, spam and inaccurate or misinterpreted
content is used. Any problem encountered by this software would always
allow the wiki administrator to edit.

1. Wikipedia is a free, open content online encyclopedia where any user
can collaborate, contribute and edit the article.
2. WikiWikiWeb is the oldest, open, easiest, and fastest web based
collaborative tool in the world.
3. Wictionary is an online multilingual dictionary that contains the
meaning, origin and pronunciation of words.
4. Wikiquote is a collection of reference or quotations from well-known
people, books, movies, etc.
5. Wikiversity supports free learning communication, projects and
materials, and other learning resources that may be used in all levels,
types, and styles of education.

Safety Tips When Going Online


1. Make sure all personal information are kept private. Never put any
contact details online and ensure passwords are difficult to guess.
2. Never meet up with people you only knew online. Meeting someone
from chat rooms and social networking sites could be dangerous.
3. Do not open emails from strangers and unknown sources. Email and
attachments may contain viruses or threats that can harm your
computer.
4. Not all information online is reliable. There are lots of information on
the internet that are not true.
5. Tell a trusted adult if anything online makes you feel uncomfortable or
threatened.
6. Use the computer or mobile device for learning and research for
information.
7. Keep your password safe, don’t give it away.
8. Children should be guided by their parents in accessing websites.
9. Respect other and treat them the way you like to be treated.
10. Do not copy other people’s work.
11. Don’t make untrue remarks that embarrass others.
12. Don’t use other people’s account.
