9 . Palm Mats
The coastal areas of *Andaman and Nicobar* Islands boast a
multitude of palm trees, which are a rich source of palm fibre from
which palm mats are made. Palm mats are quite popular and are
used as doormats or seating mats. These mats are traditional
handicrafts that enhance the beauty of the decor. They are
generally crafted by women in their free time and are made from
pandanus leaves and stems of coconut. The texture of the mats is
light, soft and cool.

Prepare a miniature of door mat on the cardboard using different

coloured ropes/ threads/ dry stems made up of concentric circles
upto radius of 6 inches. Also calculate the area of various circles
formed.
