1.OBJECT AND SCOPE OF APPLICATION

The present standard defines the regulations specific to extra-soft sheet steels nonallied, cold rolled and covered on
one or two faces of a layer of aluminum by the process of immersion hot uninterrupted.
It must be accompanied by the documents according to defining the general regulations of cold rolled sheets:
• B53 3050 “steel and aluminium flat products general specifications for supply”,
• B53 3070 “ flat products hot or cold rolled specific technical requirements ”,
• B53 3072 “ steel flat products hot or cold rolled dimensional specifications ”.

2.3.EXPRESSIONS ON DOCUMENTS
The matter is indicated in the following forms:
- General Case
When the sheet class is indifferent, to indicate:
• sheet,
• designation of the coating following table of the § Masse.
• index of this standard indicated between brackets,
• thickness.
Example:
Sheet ACE 100 (norm B53 3270) E = 1.5 mm.
- Particular case
When a particular sheet class is necessary for reasons of resistance to fatigue or safety, to indicate:
• sheet,
• designation of the coating following table of the § Masse
• designation of basic sheet (class) according to § Définition of basic sheet.
• index of this standard indicated between brackets,
• thickness.
Example:
Sheet ACE 120-05 (norm B53 3270) E = 1.5 mm.

6.CHARACTERISTICS WITH THE DELIVERY CONDITION

6.1.DEFINITION OF BASIC SHEET
The aluminiées sheets can be delivered in the classes 01,02,03,04 and 05 whose mechanical and chemical
characteristics are given hereafter.
6.1.1.CHEMICAL COMPOSITION (IN %)

(2) For sheet thickness E < 0.7 mm, minimal lengthenings are decreased by 2 points.
The mechanical characteristics appearing in the table above are guaranteed:
• 2 months for classes 01.02 and 03,
• 3 months for class 04,
• 6 months for class 05,
from the provision.
6.2.DIMENSIONAL TOLERANCES
The dimensional tolerances are those of sheets defined in the norm B53 3072 § 5.
6.3.TOLERANCES OF FORM
The tolerances of form are those defined in the norm B53 3072 § 6.
6.4.COATING
6.4.1.CHEMICAL COMPOSITION
The alloy used for the coating is of type AS8 (5 to silicon 11%).

6.4.2.MASS
It is given in g/m2 double face and is determined by the testing method D25 5075.
The table below gives the masses minimal and maximum guarantees according to the designation of the coating.

DESIGNATION MASS (g/m2) THICKNESS BY FACE

µ(m)

min. max.
AS 120 120 160 90 22
AS 100 100 140 75 19
AS 75 75 115 60 14

Foot-note:
- The aluminum mass can be unequally distributed on the 2 faces of sheet, but to in no case the mass on a face
cannot be lower than 45% of the total mass.
- The measurement thickness can be made as an indication on cut. The use of apparatuses such as the
permascope is on the other hand to proscribe because of presence of a layer of intermetallic compound (Al-Fe)
variable thickness.
6.4.3.ADHERENCE
It is determined by a bending test on 50 mm broad test-tube, by means of a hold of which the thickness is equal to 3
times the thickness of basic sheet.
The test consists in carrying out 2 opposite successive foldings with 180° while following the same li ne of folding.
The test should not cause any chipping or separation of layers of aluminum visible with the naked eye on the
external face of the fold.
6.4.4.ASPECT
Aluminiées sheets the hot uninterrupted always undergo after coating, a very light master key of rolling (skin not).
The purpose of this operation is:
• to give to the product a more regular surface and to improve the aspect of it,
• to temporarily minimize (8 days in classes 01,02,03 and 04 and 6 months for class 05) the risks of vermiculation
during the operation of working.
No serious defect such as run-outs or lacks of matter, even localized is allowed.
6.5.CONDITIONING
The aluminiées sheets can be delivered dry.
However to avoid any beginning of oxidation of aluminum during transport and storage the supplier can deliver the
product:
• that is to say oiled,
• that is to say chromated,
• that is to say chromated oiled.
The type of treatment is specified with the order and must be the subject of an approval.

7.CRITERIA OF APPROVAL OF THE PARTS OF EXTERNAL SUPPLY

The thickness of the coating is measured in the little deformed zones not or.
In addition, a control of the state of the coating in the zones particularly requested during working is carried out to
check if its possible degradation is compatible with the quality of desired protection.
