TV program? What is that program about? How much TV do you watch every day?
Do people in your country watch too much TV these days?

Dear Paul,
I am happy to get your email. How are you? I wish you are fine. I am sorry for not
writing to you for so long. I have been so busy these days. I have been working hard for
the coming exam.
I am going to tell you about TV in my country. I like watching TV, too. There are a lot
of interesting programs for me to watch such as/ like films, music, sports, game shows
and so on. My best favourite TV program is “Duong Len Dinh Olympia”. It is a game
show for high school students on VTV3. It is interesting and useful. It helps students
relax after class and learn a lot of things/ improve their knowledge/ broaden their
mind). The program is about all the knowledge that students learn at school (It is
about many things/ It is about all subjects at school). I watch TV about two hours
every day/ (I spend about two hours on TV/ I spend about two hours watching TV
every day). I often watch TV with my family in the evening. It is relaxing. People in
my country watch too much TV these days because (the TV programs are very
interesting/ wonderful/good/ fantastic/ the TV programs are better and better/ it is the
least inexpensive kind of entertainment).

you about how to get to your apartment from the airport. Read part of Sam’s email
below.

Thanks for inviting me to stay with you when I visit your country next month. I'm not
sure how to get to your apartment from the airport. Could you write back giving me
some basic instructions? What would be the best method of transport for me? I'd
prefer one that isn't too expensive!

Just one other thing - what will the weather be like when I get there? (Just so I'll
know what clothes to pack!

Dear Sam,

It’s amazing to get your letter. (I am happy to hear that you are coming to Vietnam next month).
How are things? I hope everything is going well with you. It’s a long time I haven’t written to you. I
have been so busy these days. I have been working hard for the coming plan.

I am going to show you how to get my apartment from the airport. When you get out of the
airport, turn right into ABC high way and go straight for about 10 kilometers then you can see XYZ
building. My house is behind the building. When you come to the building, call me. From the
airport, you can get/take the bus number 202. Travelling by bus is cheap and convenient so you
should go by bus. It is summer in Vietnam next month. It is very hot so you should bring T-shirts,
shirts, shorts or Jeans.

I hope we will have a great time together. I am looking forward to seeing you.

I often watch TV shows about science and cooking. It is very interesting and useful. It gives me good
information. I also learn many delicious dishes on the cooking channel. I have cooked many delicious
dishes for my family. I usually watch TV on weekends with my parents or friends. People in my
country usually watch too much TV, especially when World Cup happens. They often gather and
watch the show together. Besides, the most popular programs are comedies. It helps them relieve
stress after work.

I am writing this letter to tell you about how to get to my apartment from the airport. When you
stand at the airport, let's book a taxi or grab and talk to them about my address: 999 Tay Ho street.
They will take you to my house, you just sleep. It is easy. If you want to save money to travel in my
city, you can rent a motorbike in Tuan Minh shop near the airport and I will direct you. First, you go
straight untill you come to the crossroads and turn right. Continue to go straight on Hoan Kiem
street for about 2 kilometers. Then, you should look around if there is any policeman. Don't worry
about this, I'm just kidding. Turn left when you see VIB bank on the side of the road and go into Tay
Ho street. Let's get straight on about 200m and don't be attracted by a beautiful cafe shop. I will
stand opposite the cafe and wait for you in the apartment lobby.

Dear Sam,

I’m very happy that you are coming to Vietnam next month. We will spend a week together, shall
we? Next month is July and it is summer here. The weather is very hot so you should bring shorts, T-
shirts, flip-flops or canvas shoes. We may go swimming, bring your swimsuit and we’ll have a
wonderful vacation. You should bring your sunscreen, too. And here are some instructions to my
apartment. My apartment is near the airport, about 5 kilometres from Noi Bai airport, you can easily
find it. After landing, go to the Second Terminal and catch the bus number 5. Get off the bus at the
sixth bus stop – named Cau Go. Go to the corner in front of Ha Vi hotel, then turn left, my apartment
is on the right near Asian Building. Call me when you come. It is the cheapest way to go to my place.
Or you can take a taxi or Grab instead. It is not too expensive and easier than going by bus.

not far from airport. It is about 10 kilometers. The best method of transport for you is taxi. It is not
too expensive. It is about 150.000 vnd. I think Taxi is convenient. When you get out of the airport,
you turn left into ABC high way, go straight for about 8 kilometers, you turn right into DEF street,
then you can see GHI building. My house is behind GHI building. When you come to the building, call
me. In Viet Nam, it is summer next month. The weather is too hot so you should bring T-shirt, shorts,
jeans and shirt.
