By Management
12 ESSENTIAL POINTS WHEN BUILDING YOUR ACTION PLAN
1. Written Emergency Action Plan.
2. Develop and coordinate the EAP with your internal staff.
3. Review and distribute your EAP Yearly.
4. Rehearse the EAP.
5. Update the EAP Yearly.
6. Identify the key Personnel.
7. Identify the on-site location of any Emergency equipment such as Spinal Board, Neck Collars,
Head Blocks and Spider Harness.
8. List the facility address and location – contact information of key personnel, and both
Government and Private Emergency medical services and Hospitals. This include BOKSMART
SPINELINE NUMBER operated by ER24, 0800 678 678.
9. Set documentation that should be captured and stored on file after such a CATASTROPHIC
EVENT, such as your BOKSMART SERIOUS INJURY REPORT FORM and FOLLOW -UP
QUESTIONNAIRES.
10. Information on the Key Health Professionals.
11. Venue – Specific Emergency Action Plan.
12. The Emergency Action Plan must be Posted and Visible at each Venue, where rugby is being
Played.

Even though one might not need all the pieces, one does need to have them available if
they ARE needed.
So, having SPINAL BOARDS, RIGID CERVICAL COLLARS, HEAD BLOCKS AND SPIDER
HARNESS ON-SITE, are non-negotiable.

The game should never start without ALL the SAFETY measures first being in place.

YOU NEED TO ENSURE THAT YOUR HOUSE IS IN ORDER BEFORE A RUGBY MATCH STARTS!

Thank you.
