A WORD FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
I am truly honoured to be asked to pen
down my thoughts regarding the inaugural
paulian news letter.I trust that like many
endeavours in the school our students will
develop the skill of creative thinking and
creative writing. I believe students need
opportunities to develop their skills be it
debate, reading, writing, mathematics,
science, arts and culture. The spelling bee,
culture day and paulmun are a step in that
direction. These events held over years has
portrayed this initiative. I wish the team of
students under the directives of Faheem
Fredrick and Rosario Fernandez sees
literary transformation in their thoughts
and expressions. You have my whole
hearted support for this venture

When I do count the clock that tells the time,

AUTHOR OF THE MONTH
William Shakespeare(1564-1616) a play writer, poet and
actor is widely regarded as the greatest wirter in the
history of litreature and the world pre-eminent
dramatist. He is often called. english national poet and the
“Bard of Avon”. Some of the greatest pieces he ever
wrote was Hamlet, Romeo & Juliet, King Lear, Macbeth,
the Tempest and many more.shakespeare has a profound
impact on the history of litreature and even in this age he
is well known for his works.
Stories by Shakespeare
Romeo & Juliet
It is a tragic love story where the two main characters, Romeo and Juliet, are supposed
to be sworn enemies but fall in love. Due to their families’ ongoing conflict they cannot
be together, so they kill themselves because they cannot cope being separate from
each other.
Macbeth
Three witches tell the Scottish general Macbeth that he will be the king of Scotland.
Encouraged by his wife, Macbeth kills the king, becomes the new king and kills more
people out of paranoia. Civil war erupts to overthrow Macbeth, resulting in more
death.
Hamlet
The ghost of the king of Denmark tells his, Hamlet to avenge his murder by the new
king, Hamlet’s Uncle. Hamlet feigns madness, contemplates life and death, and
seeks revenge. His uncle, fearing for his life also devises plots to kill Hamlet.
King lear
King Lear divides his among the two daughters who flatter him and banishes the third
one who loves him. His eldest daughters then reject him at their homes , so King Lear
goes mad and wander through a storm.
 WHY THIS NEWSLETTER?

Societas lectorum et scriptorium the society of readers

and writers is very happy to bring you the first edition of
Saint Paul’s Evocative Linguistic Letter(SPELL). The
society has made this letter to create avid readers of
literature and strong writers that will grow into authors
and orators. We urge all students to provide material
for the second edition of the letter that will come out in
3 months.

 VICTORIOUS DELEGATION OF PAULS NEVER FAILS TO WIN
PAULS HEART

Recently, from August 3rd to 5th, 2023, Karachi grammar school hosted the
R
prestigious KGSMUN, drawing students from various schools across the city.
Our very owng St. Paul's English High School proudly participated, sending both
Delegation A and B.

The event commenced with an introduction to the conference and its

committees in the auditorium. This was followed by the country ambassadors
heading to their respective committee rooms. The sheer number of attendees
left me ecstatic.

The MODEL UNITED NATION sessions were followed for the following three
days with the addition of a social event where the delegates conversed with
each other and feasted on scrumptious food. Which were scarcely since our
school is one of the few which partakes in the encouragement of juniors for
the participation in such. The final day culminated in an awards ceremony
where our school's delegates, a double delegate Muhammad Talha and
Bassam Haidar ambassadors of UK and Shazil Ali ambassador of Australia,
achieved remarkable success. Our delegates secured the Outstanding
diplomacy and Honorable Mention awards in DISEC and IAEA committees,
bringing glory to our school. Overall, the conference provided a thrilling
experience, blending feelings of excitement, anxiety, and joy.
