Central University of Odisha joins CUET-2022

BHUBANESWAR: The Central University of Odisha (CUO), Koraput, has joined the
Common University Entrance Test (undergraduate) (CUET (UG)-2022) for admission into
the undergraduate programmes.

For the session 2022, joining the CUET (PG) has not been made mandatory for the Central
universities. But CUO has decided to join the CUET (PG)-2022.

The National Testing Agency (NTA), an organisation established under the ministry of
education, will conduct the CUET (UG)-2022 for all Central universities. Starting from
registration of candidates for the test to declaring the result and hosting the score card, this
agency will take the responsibility.

However, the participating universities will prepare the merit list and hold counselling on the
basis of the scorecard provided by the NTA. Final merit list will be prepared according to the
reservation rules and other eligibility criteria specified in the respective university’s
prospectus.

“This year, CUO will offer only one programme, a five-year integrated mathematics, to the
students who come through CUET(UG)-2022, while it will offer 12 PG programmes and one
BEd programme under CUET (PG),” said Ram Shankar, nodal officer, CUET and
Admissions 2022, CUO, at a press conference here on Wednesday.
Sharat Kumar Palita, vice-chancellor (in-charge), CUO, said the NTA will conduct CUET at
28 examination centres across Odisha through computer-based test (CBT) mode. “Students
who are planning to get admission can apply for the CUET soon. For more information, they
can visit the NTA website, CUO website and dial helpline numbers,” he added.

Palita expressed his optimism that this process will not only help attract talents from the
hinterland of Odisha, but also from different corners of the country.

Official sources said CUET will be conducted in July this year. Students can take admission
in any of the 45 Central universities across the country by appearing for a single entrance
examination unlike earlier. Last date for online registration and submission of application for
CUET (UG)-2022 is May 6. Students will answer multiple choice questions in two slots.
They can appear for the examination in 13 languages.

Bhubaneswar/Jeypore: With the slogan “One Nation-One Test”, the Ministry of Education
(MoE) has directed all the Central Universities to join the Common University Entrance:
2022 [CUET(UG)-2022] for admission into the Undergraduate Programmes in Computer
Based Test (CBT) mode. However, for the session 2022, joining the CUET (PG): 2022
programmes has not been made mandatory for the Central Universities (CUs).

The responsibility of for conducting the CUET (UG): 2022 for all Central Universities has
been given to the National Testing Agency (NTA), an independent, self-sustained premier
organization established under Ministry of Education (MoE) with a vision to provide a
common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country especially those
from rural and other remote areas.

A single Examination will enable candidates to cover a wide outreach. The role of NTA is
confined to registration of candidates, conduct of the test, hosting the answer keys, inviting
challenges, finalizing the answer keys, preparing and declaring the result and hosting the
Score Card. The merit list will be prepared by the participating Universities.

The Universities will have their individual counselling on the basis of the score card provided
by the NTA and final merit list will be prepared as per the reservation rules and other
eligibility criteria specified in the respective University’s Prospectus.

The Central University of Odisha (CUO) at Koraput, Odisha has joined CUET (UG): 2022
for which advertisement has already been made and has also decided to join the CUET (PG):
2022.

For CUET (UG): 2022, there is only one programme i.e. 5 yr Integrated Mathematics,
whereas under CUET (PG), there will be 12 PG programmes and one B.Ed. programme. For
conducting the Entrance Test, the NTA has come out with 28 centres throughout the length
and breadth of the state of Odisha.

The details regarding the mode of the test, medium of examination, pattern of question, test
design and examination scheme are available in NTA website (www.nta.ac.in) and also in the
website of the Central University of Odisha (www.cuo.ac.in).

Students planning to get admission are advised to apply for the CUET soon. The Central
University of Odisha has established an Admission Cell and started admission helpline.
