Joining Instructions - Wing Activity Weekend 27/28 Jan 24 – Bronze Leadership – 1855 Sqn

General

1. You have been selected to attend either the Bronze Leadership Course which will take place on
Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th January 2024 at No. 1855 (Royton) Squadron ATC, Hillside Avenue,
Royton, Oldham, OL2 6RE.

Travel & Timings

2. All personnel are to report to the locations stated at 08:30 each morning of the course, departure from
each will vary slightly but will be between 16:00 and 16:30 each day.

3. Upon arrival all personal are to sign into the location and make themselves familiar with the fire
procedures.

Dress & Equipment

4. Please see detailed below the dress for each course;

Bronze Leadership – CS95 or MTP

All personnel attending courses should be in possession of a notepad and writing equipment.

ALL PERSONNEL ARE TO BE IN POSSESSION OF A WATER BOTTLE FILLED READY FOR


FLUID INTAKE.

The weather forecast for the weekend is possibly wet on the Saturday and cool on the Sunday,
so please ensure that you bring waterproof clothing.

Messing

5. No messing is provided, so candidates for all courses should bring along a packed lunch for both
days, this is essential, as to allow candidates to leave to purchase lunch will cause timing issues for
the rest of the day.
A tuck shop will be in operation so a small amount of pocket money may be brought for this purpose.

6. In the event of an emergency during the day, family members may contact Squadron Leader Ian

First Aid

7. In the event of an individual needing First Aid treatment, cover will be provided by a named individual
identified on the morning briefing each day.

8. In the event of a serious injury an assessment will be made regarding the need for an ambulance and
the nearest hospital will be Tameside General Hospital.

Remuneration and Travel expenses

10. Those CFAV who are entitled to claim remuneration can do so via Accts form 80 which when
completed should be forwarded to Wing HQ for approval.

11. Those CFAV travelling in their own vehicle can claim via Accts form 1771, which when completed
should be forwarded to Wing HQ for approval.

Additional Information

12. If you are unable to attend the your allocated course, you must advise your unit commander as soon
as possible so that your place can be reallocated.

13. If you suffer from any medical condition that may prevent you from taking part in the course(s) you
should inform the Officer in Charge at the earliest opportunity before the start of the course. Any
medication that you need to take during the duration of the course should be clearly labelled with your
name and Squadron number and the course you are on. (E.G. Mark Hamilton 1855 Silver leadership)

14. Please remember to bring the £2:00 administration fee in cash to be paid on the Saturday morning.
