Subject: Leter of Mo�va�on for the Applica�on of a German Student Visa

I am Yash Patwal and I am wri�ng this leter to express my strong desire and mo�va�on to
study in the field of Computer Science as I have always been cap�vated by the world of
Computers and technology since my early teenage years. I have been looking forward for the
opportunity to study abroad for my exposure and overall growth.
The keen desire of studying in Germany would expose me to a diverse and mul�cultural
environment, enabling me to connect socially with interna�onal students from diversified
backgrounds and culture. In my opinion, such experiences will contribute significantly to my
personal and professional growth.

Below is my Statement of Purposes (SOP) describing my further details:

I am the Son of Mr. Yashpal Singh (Father) and Mrs. Santoshi Patwal (Mother). I was born on
05/01/2004: I have an Indian Passport (No: Z6617072). About my Educa�onal Details, I have
completed 12 years of educa�on under the Central Board of Secondary Educa�on and have
scored 79.7% in 12th Class and 85.7% in my 10th Class board Examina�ons respec�vely. I
have obtained German Language Proficiency of A2 Level with 83 score. I have a confirmed
admission leter for Interna�onal Preparatory Course including Preliminary B1 Course at the
University of Paderborn for the Winter Semester 2023.
My father is a working man at Private Sector and my mother is a housemaker. My residen�al
address is F – 128, East Vinod Nagar, PIN: 110091, Delhi, India.
Since early teenage, I have been exploring computers through different pla�orms i.e.,
School, Cyber Cafe etc. Class 11th changed my perspec�ve towards computers when
Computer Science was introduced as my official main subject and this is the reason why I
want to be a So�ware Developer. I got great grades throughout my high school in the
Computer Science subject. Because of my immense interest and my hard work in the subject
my school teachers mo�vated me significantly to pursue my Bachelor’s degree in the field of
Computer Science. I completed my 12th grade in 2022 from the Central Board of Secondary
Educa�on. A�er successfully giving the exams, I started learning German Language offline
and successfully atended A2 Level exam on January with Goethe-Ins�tut, New Delhi, India.
Learning German language is always a plus and I realized it a�er a few months of learning
German. A�er successful comple�on of my preparatory course, I would like to con�nue my
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (Informa�k) at University of Paderborn only because
of its commitment towards excellence.
As most of the preparatory courses in Germany are in the German Language, I decided to
learn �ll A2 Level in India and to complete my remaining levels in Germany, at University of
Paderborn, therefore enrolled myself for preliminary B1 course itself. Studying at University
of Paderborn will allow me to immerse myself in a vibrant and mul�cultural environment. As
well as Germany’s reputa�on as a hub of technological and scien�fic advancements is
unparalleled. Interac�ng with students will enhance my global perspec�ve, promote cultural
exchange, and develop my communica�on skills the most. I believe that this exposure to
diverse perspec�ves and ideas will not only enhance my educa�onal experience but also
prepare me to thrive in an interconnected world and I am eager to be a part of the
University and contribute to the advancements in my field of study.
I chose the University of Paderborn because of plenty of reasons. Environment has always
been a plus for the University, the modern study environment encourages students to gather
and discuss. In addi�on to that the Paderborn University embraces ideas and supports in
doing research and crea�ng new knowledge that maters. The course in which I am
interested is explained in detailed with contents, perspec�ves and mainly the career op�ons
a�er the successful comple�on of the bachelor’s degree is what made me more atracted
towards the University.
