PCA-Choosing an Organization Worksheet

Worksheet Objectives:
1. Identify an organization and situation you want to study over the remainder of the course.
2. Describe the organization and the situation

Complete the following making sure to support your ideas and cite from the textbook and other
course materials per APA guidelines. After the peer review, you have a chance to update this and
format for your Electronic Portfolio due in Module 6.

1) Name and describe your organization.

I will be performing this Personal Case Analysis on my current employer, Nash

Powersports. At Nash Powersports the goal is to sell motorcycles, dirt bikes, jet skis,

boats, ATVs, and UTVs primarily. We are a family owned business that was started

around five years ago that takes pride in providing a “hassle free” and family friendly

experience. Our goal is to take care of our customers by providing the best powersports

experience possible. At Nash Powersports we aim to provide an efficient, friendly, and

professional atmosphere that makes people feel like a part of the Nash family.

2) Describe your role in the organization (it can be an internal or external role).

I am a member of the Internet Sales Department at Nash Powersports. My job is

to reach out to potential customers that have given us their contact information. I utilize a

system that manages all of our potential customers, their information, and provides a

history of communication. The goal for people in my department try to get as many

people in our stores as possible by setting appointments. On a daily basis I provide

customers with more information about machines, address any questions they may have,

and set appointments for potential customers to speak with our product specialists.

3) Describe the situation, including information you think the will help the reader
understand the most important elements of the situation. (This will require
selectivity: part of the art of case writing is separating the essential facts from the
mass of information that might be included).

As a newer company, Nash Powersports has been fortunate to experience some

incredible growth in the first few years. This has lead to an expansion and increased

volume of potential customers. As the organization has grown, it’s been tough to keep up

with the additional workload. The system Nash Powersports currently utilizes was clearly

the best client management system available when the company was founded. It was

much more affordable and had all the capabilities the organization needed. Unfortunately,

the rapid growth has proved to be more than our system can handle. Now the Internet

Department specifically faces issues with the customer management website crashing or

not sending out messages to our potential customers. At this time, I want to focus on what

could be done in order to increase sales and manage leads more effectively.
