DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION

I. LESSON OBJECTIVES:

At the end of the lesson student should be able to;

a) Define what is Philippine Folk Dance


b) Identify the different basic step use in Folk Dance especially in feet and arms position.
c) Perform the fundamental positions of feet and arms in folk dance.

yesterday? We’re fine Ma’am. We enjoyed our
activity yesterday.

B. MOTIVATION

Do you want to dance class?

I have here a video shows Philippine Folk


Dance. Okay let’s all stand up and try to
follow this dance
Okay, very interesting Ma’am.

Are you now guys ready? Okay, let’s start.

(Teacher will present a video)

What did you notice during our


activity?
Ma’am I encounter difficulties because
we don’t know the steps.

Ma’am it hard to follow the dance.

C. LESSON PROPER

Our activity has something to do with our


topic for today. Let`s start.

Today we are going to discuss about the


Fundamental position of feet and arms in
Philippine Folk dance.

Is that ok class are you ready to listen?

So, here our Lesson Objectives: Yes, Ma’am. We are ready to listen.
At the end of the lesson student should be
able to;

a. Define what is Philippine Folk Dance

b. Identify the different basic step use in


Folk Dance specially in feet and arms
position.

c. Perform the fundamental positions of


feet and arms in folk dance.

First let me discuss what is folkdance.


(Teacher will present a presentation)

What is Folkdance class? Anyone?

Ma’am it says that, Folk dance refers to
the dances created, performed

Class,

The term usually called “Ethnic Dance” It is


a popular dance, considered as part of the
tradition or custom of a particular people
such as those of the cultural community in
the cordillera, in Mindoro, Palawan, Sulu
and Mindanao, and the rural or lowland. It
also called Christian dances among the
groups like the Ilokano, Pangasinan,
Tagalog, Pampanga, Bicol Cebuano,
Ilonggo and Waray.

They are dances performed at social


functions by people with little or no
professional training, often to traditional
music or music based on traditional music.
They are not also designed for public
performance or the stage, although
traditional folkdances may be later arranged
and set for stage performances.

on Feet and Arms in Folk Dance, are you

There have a 5 Fundamental positions of


feet and arms that we are going to execute
after the discussion. so, listen carefully.

Now we proceed first in Feet Position from


1st to 5th and followed by the arms
position. Is that ok class.??

Here are the 5 fundamentals Position of Okay ma’am.


Feet.
1st Position- Heels together, toes
apart with an angle of 45 degrees.
2nd Position – Astride sideward of
about pace or 1 foot distance.
3rd Position – Heels of one foot
close to the in- step of the other
foot.
4th Position- One foot in front of
the other about a pace distance.
5th Position – Heel of Front close
to the big toe of the rear foot.
We are now done with the feet, any Student raised hand
questions regarding our discussion?

Now, we proceed to Fundamental Arm Student will execute


Position.

1st Position - Encircle both arms in


front of chest with the finger tips
about an inch apart.

So next the

2nd Position- Both arms raised


sideward with a graceful curve.

3rd Position- One arm raised


sideward, the other arm overhead.

4th Position - One arm in a half


circle in front another arm raised
overhead.

5th Position- Both hands raised


overhead.

We are done in all fundamental position


of arm and feet. Any question?

folkdance is.

Ma’am I learned the Fundamental


positions of feet and arms. It helps me to
easily execute the folkdance.

C. ABSTRACTION

Okay I have my question, what did you


notice before and after my discussion about
the fundamental position? Ma’am, During our pre- activity we
encounter difficulties to execute the
dances step because we don’t know the
basic position of our arms and feet. But
after our discussion we can understand
how it could be. It easy to follow the
steps on the dance.
Very Good. As you can notice, if we know
this fundamental position of our arm and
feet, we can perform effectively the
folkdance. We can confident how to move
gracefully.

Class, remember that Folk dance is a part


of our culture and tradition so we need to
preserve this kind of tradition. I hope that
this class would initiate to make it possible.
