for the transmission. Do not fully install shaft assembly (161).

11. Install brake cam (131), washer (128), and retaining ring (127).

12. Use a suitable hammer to finish installing shaft assembly (161) so that there is no end play for
brake cam (131).

Note: Do not overtighten bolt (160). Overtightening bolt (160) will prevent the brake cam from
moving freely.

distance between the top of shaft assembly (140) and the top face of retaining ring (142).

32. Subtract Dimension (D2) from Dimension (D1). The result will be Dimension (D3). Dimension
(D3) should be 0.30 to 0.50 mm (0.013 to 0.020 inch).

78. Use two suitable screwdrivers to pry up on shim plate (55) until suitable contact is made with
retaining ring (54).

79. Use Tooling (S) to measure Dimension (D5) as shown in Illustration 65. Dimension (D5) is the
distance between the top of shim plate (55) and the top of clutch assembly (46).

80. Add Dimension (D4) and Dimension (D5) together. The sum is Dimension (D6). Dimension
(D6) should be 2.60 to 2.80 mm (0.102 to 0.110 inch).

the distance between the top surface of the housing for transmission (1) to the top surface of the
bottom of the housing for transmission (1).

133. Subtract Dimension (D12) from Dimension (D11) to obtain Dimension (D13). Dimension
(D13) is the end play for the clutch assembly without the thrust washers. Add thrust washers as
needed to obtain an end play of 0.10 to 0.30 mm (0.004 to 0.012 inch).
