Introduction

Computer network security, often referred to as network security, involves

implementing measures to protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of
computer networks and the data they transmit. As organizations increasingly rely on
interconnected systems and digital communication, the importance of network security
has grown significantly.

Body

Network security is a broad term that encompasses various strategies,

technologies, and measures designed to safeguard computer networks and data from
unauthorized access, attacks, or damage.

Confidentiality: Ensuring that sensitive information is accessible only to

authorized individuals.

Firewalls: Hardware or software-based systems that monitor and control

incoming and outgoing network traffic based on predetermined security rules.

Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS):

Tools that monitor network or system activities for signs of malicious activities and take
actions to prevent or mitigate them.

Virtual Private Networks (VPNs): Secure communication channels that enable

users to access a private network over the internet.

Encryption: The process of converting data into a secure format to prevent

Conclusion

In today's interconnected world, network security is a critical aspect of overall

cybersecurity, and organizations must adopt a multi-layered approach to effectively
mitigate risks and protect their digital assets.
