I. INTRODUCTION
As the environment becomes at risk of getting distress, people should be vulnerable enough to
concur in activities that would save it. The humanity is the main reason for the environment’s
destruction, for its activities became a routine for the cause of pollution all over the community. JCI
Philippines, a national organization of Junior Chamber International (JCI), a global non-profit
organization created for enterprising individuals ages 18-40 with over 500,000 members in more
than 100 countries which focus on professional development, economic opportunities, and creative
solutions to address problems across all levels of society together with the Municipal Environment
and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), an Information, Education, Communication (IEC) Campaign
on Solid Waste Management was conducted at Chef Chad Restaurant, San Pedro St., Liliw, Laguna.
The key objective of the IEC Campaign is to educate the member of JCI Laguna Chapter in proper
handling, segregating, collecting and disposal of solid wastes base on RA 9003 and the good
practices of Liliw Laguna on their solid waste management.
The IEC Campaign will serve as training ground for the barangays to be equipped with knowledge
that will be disseminated afterwards to its constituents, for it will greatly help them achieve their
goals; environmental awareness and the barangay’s cleanliness.
II. DOCUMENTATION
A short program for the IEC Campaign was conducted for the members of JCI Laguna Chapter. There
was a total of 30 participants in all. The program started at 8:00 in the morning with solemn prayer
followed by the welcoming of participants and a message from its leaders. First activities were the
tree Planting at Martin Arjona Salaveria’s Farm Brgy Palayan, Liliw, Laguna. Lunch and IEC for solid
waste management was held at Chef Chad Restaurant at 2 PM in the afternoon.
