using the scheduler :

now we will schedule our scenario.


let us consider a set up with two groups of vusers g1 and g2. each group using different vuser scripts.
g1 has two vusers and g2 has one vuser.

we would like to schedule the scenario as follows.


each vuser will perform two iterations at random times.
all the vusers will initialize simultaneously and perform the iterations independently.

to enable the scheduler.


select scenario > scheduling from the menu bar.
see the screen below.

click scheduling.

the following window opens.

select view > schedule layout > basic time-event.

select schedule > schedule group from the loadrunner scheduler’s menubar.
click schedule group. the following window opens.

start time is the relative start time. that is, when we run the schedule, the scenario is started the above
quantity of time after the present system time.

let us set the start time to be 00:00:00.


left click the group g1 and click properties.

the group properties window opens. select the duration tab. in our case we set the group to execute till 3
minutes. so after 3 minutes the group execution will be stopped irrespective of the status.

click the initializing tab. we select all vusers in the group to be initialized simultaneously. you can have
your own specifications. see the screen below.

similarly we can give the ramp up and ramp down options.

you can click the visualize tab to see a graphical representation of the group schedule.

click ok. to close the group properties window.

click ok to close the select time and start time window.


the loadrunner scheduler window shows the schedule for that group.

similarly we schedule group g2 also.


check the scenario settings. specify your own, if you would like to.
select schedule > scenario settings from the loadrunner scheduler menu bar.
see the screen below.

once you are through with the scenario settings, save the scenario.
now you can run the scenario according to the schedule.
select schedule > run scenario from the loadrunner scheduler menu bar.
see the screen above.

you can revert back to the loadrunner controller window to monitor the scenario execution online.
